A. Teaching Method
Achieving learning objectives depends on whether the teaching method used by the teacher is good or not. Therefore, it is important for teachers to understand the context of the material to be taught so that it will facilitate the process of transferring knowledge in the learning process. The learning method that I use is the problem based learning method, namely a method that emphasizes students being able to solve problems and think critically about these problems. This method is very suitable with the curriculum used by schools which refers to student activity. For example, I always pin questions for them to answer and always show pictures and videos where students have to explain the process and meaning of the material being taught. Not only that, at several meetings I used the number head together (NHT) learning method which was nothing more than to activate the role of students. For example, I direct them to count 1 to 6. Then students who get number 1 gather to form team 1, students who get number 2 form team 2, and so on until number 6. After that, I give out 6 questions. In 1 group, students get different serial numbers. Next, each student in one team is responsible for one question according to the number they get.
Before starting the learning process, I as a teacher provide motivation to students. This is the same as what I do when no students answer a question. The goal is so that they do not hesitate in voicing their opinions and are not afraid of being wrong. Apart from that, in the learning process I also add ice breakers such as games to help refresh their memories.
B. Learning Materials & Innovation
Learning materials and innovation are very important in the learning process because they support the smooth learning process. Based on the results of observations, the teacher used a whiteboard, PPT, videos, photos, and even brought real tools such as microscopes and specimens, including torsos. These tools help teachers in delivering material and make it easier for students to understand the material. They are also very happy and enthusiastic when they see or use tools that they have seen for the first time, such as microscopes and blood specimens of frogs and humans. I also direct students to bring manila paper to make posters as attractive as possible so that the learning material can be applied even if only through visual images.
C. Sources of Learning and Technology
The main source of learning in science material 5 with the topic plate tectonics refers to the book K to 12 Science Links 10, pp. 7 – 30 and reference sources from Google. The teacher uses the book to make the class atmosphere look more fun. In the learning process teachers also use TV as a tool in presenting material, playing videos and showing photos. Of course, this will help teachers in teaching
D. Authentic Assessment
There are several items used in the assessment process. Students will get additional points if they are able to answer the questions given, are able to ask questions, are active in groups, and are able to work together in groups. The teacher assessment guidelines refer to the assessment rubric that has been created before conducting the assessment. for example, when I give a group assignment in the form of a poster, the highest points they will get is 32 points.
E. Overall Impression of My Coorporating Teacher
Sir Oliver is one of the professional teachers I have met so far. He prepared everything before class started. He even said that he woke up at 3 am to prepare the lesson plan for the next day. He always held the principle that a teacher's job is to teach knowledge to students who want to learn. He teaches in a loud voice and is a perfectionist regarding the assessments that will be given to students. I hope to be like Sir Oliv who is always responsible for his duties as a teacher to educate students.
